Taming the Perpetual Paper Piles

I am amazed at how much paper fills my office trash can each week. Even more sobering is the amount of paper that ends up on my desk taking up precious work space.

Over the summer my husband & I purchased new desks for our home office.  Ideally, my new desk would provide more work space.  But week after week it happened……

The invasion of the paper piles!  Surely there had to be a way to stop this madness!

Say hello to my little friend. The Kvissle letter tray from IKEA.

I fancied it up using  a thick shelf liner that was hibernating in my closet.

Then labeled each slot using my label maker.  Which is the same tool I used for this project.

I placed washi tape underneath the label for easy removal and (drumroll please)….

Happy Dance! Now whenever I bring papers into the office they have a designated place to go before I file them in the appropriate binder or hanging file.

It worked so well, I use one next to the printer in our office and the school room!

  1. Washi tape under the label! That’s brilliant…looks cute and easy to remove, too. Thank you, that’s going to make a big difference in my desk organization from now on. 🙂

    • Hi Janey!
So glad you found that post helpful! And yes the washi tape does make it easy to remove the label. I’d love to see a photo of how you use it for your desk organization 🙂

  2. It looks great…someday I will get to organization and being able to get things to help that. Until then, I love what you did and how you made it more colorful!
